motorcycle touring racks and cases

The Kawasaki KLR650 is a well regarded touring bike, but the European model KLR doesn’t have much aftermarket support in terms of touring gear. Taking a 12,000km trip from Denmark down to Ghana through Western Europe and West Africa requires planning and gear. The racks and cases performed flawlessly on the trip, surviving rain, dust, and a few spills along the way.

The motorcycle racks are inspired by those on a Royal Enfield bikes. Lockable stainless steel sheet metal cases clip in place on the racks, which also have space for water storage and a 20L fuel can.

The racks are modeled using solid modeling techniques and the cases using sheet metal modeling techniques in SolidWorks. Both were manufactured by Danico, a metal fabricator in Ukraine. The racks and cases performed flawlessly on the trip, surviving rain, dust, and a few spills along the way.
